The Challenge

Students at Royal Holloway relied on multiple disconnected platforms to check bus times, find available laundry machines, discover campus events, and navigate the grounds. There was no unified, purpose-built mobile app that brought these essential services together in a fast, intuitive experience.

The Solution

We developed a cross-platform mobile app that aggregates live data from multiple university services into a single, polished interface. Real-time bus tracking, laundry machine status, a campus events feed, and an interactive map, all optimised for speed and reliability. Built with React Native and Expo for rapid iOS and Android delivery, and backed by Supabase for real-time data synchronisation.

The Result

Launched on both the App Store and Google Play to a perfect 5.0 rating. Over 1,000 students actively use the app daily, with engagement peaks around term time. RHUL Mobile has become the go-to companion for campus life at Royal Holloway, proving the value of focused, user-centred app development.

The Challenge

Public EV charging infrastructure in the UK is expanding, but not fast enough to meet demand. Many EV drivers struggle to find reliable, affordable charging, particularly in residential areas. Meanwhile, thousands of homeowners have chargers sitting idle for most of the day. The challenge was building a trusted marketplace that connects these two groups seamlessly and securely.

The Solution

We delivered a full-stack marketplace MVP comprising a Next.js web platform for listing and discovering chargers, a React Native mobile app for on-the-go booking, and Stripe Connect for secure peer-to-peer payments. Hosts set their own availability and pricing, while drivers search by location and book instantly. The platform manages the entire transaction lifecycle, including payments, scheduling, and reviews.

The Result

NeighbourCharge launched as a fully functional marketplace with integrated payments, user verification, and location-based search. The platform validates a compelling business model for peer-to-peer EV charging and is well positioned in one of the UK's fastest-growing sectors, ready to scale with increasing EV adoption.
